I was born in Mexico City in 1983. At the age of two my family moved to Patzcuaro, a small colonial town with a strong indigenous presence. Being the daughter of artist parents I grew up in a Bohemian atmosphere surrounded by an international community of creators. In 1999 I settled in San Miguel de Allende, another town with a large artist community, and then, in 2001, went to Paris for a year, where I confirmed my interest in jewelry design and creation. Back in San Miguel I studied at the Sterling Quest School under the tutoring of Billy King. From the very first time I held a torch and soldered a piece, I realized that I had found a true passion, and I became a full time jeweler.

In the summer of 2003 I received a scholarship from the Lachance Foundation to attend a gemology course at the Ecole de Gemmologie de Montreal as well as other workshops such as precious metal clay techniques, glass bead fabrication and polymer clay techniques, all of which substantially enhanced my skills and creative processes. Over the years I have also explored various other techniques independently such as Keum-Boo (an ancient Korean technique that consists in joining 24K gold leaf to fine silver by applying heat and pressure), lost wax casting, gold plating and, more recently, the use of non-conventional materials such as acrylic painted canvas and oxidized copper.

I have now maintained a working studio for over 12 years, and I´m still amazed by the endless and surprising possibilities that precious metals offer.  Every step of the process from drawing the design through sewing, soldering and sanding to setting the precious stones and cleaning and polishing the finished work is a source of discovery and great satisfaction for me.

I´ve participated in many jewelry exhibitions, and my work has been exhibited at various stores and galleries such as Wey Gallery, Galería Nudo, Azul y Plata, and the YAM Gallery.  I had the pleasure of being a member at the Izamal Gallery from the beginning of my career in 2003 through 2008.   After a hiatus of a few years, I rejoined this wonderful artist´s cooperative in 2014.
